Freya Astrella
medicine musician + DnB vocalist

Of all the creative endeavors, writing your own music is surely one of the most daunting. Which is why I turned my back on it, time and time again. But in 2022, my soul was called back to my art.

Since then, I’ve written reams of music designed to heal our hurting souls. Keep scrolling to hear my latest musical projects - from acoustic soul songs to slappin’ DnB tracks…

New acoustic music

New acoustic music ~

My latest music is a heartfelt and deeply vulnerable selection of songs, documenting my ongoing healing journey. (A word of warning: it’s not all love and light!) You can expect poignant lyrics, humble arrangements, and warm production, with the fantastic support of James Sims of Pinehouse Sounds.

PSYCHEDELIC ADVENTURES…

I released my debut EP in 2023 (better late than never). My humble little songs got the five-star treatment in studio, all thanks to Tristan Starling of Chaski Productions. Always Near is a tribute to my sister who took her own life. AYA documents my journey with plant medicines, Trust is note to self to remember to trust the process, and Beautiful Creature is a love letter to my scared inner child. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed creating them….

Collaborations + demos +

In addition to my spiritual ‘medicine’ songs, I have an undying love for drum and bass. Oh yes, you'll find me skanking hard in the middle of dance floors most weekends! I’m now developing an ambitious vision to combine these two powerful genres and I’m looking for like-minded and unique producers to help me bring this vision to life. If this resonates, check out my demos below, and feel free to download my EPK too…

A glimpse into my singing history…

Throughout my 20s I racked up hundreds of stage and studio hours, working with function bands, choirs and producers. I chose to move away from this ‘bread and butter’ work, but I hold many fond memories. Here’s just a few of them…
